Matchday 1: Bouaké FC beats AFAD 2-1 and takes first place
In its first outing of the season, Bouaké FC beat the Amadou Diallo Football Academy 2-1 to take first place in Ligue 1, its first opening-day win in four seasons.

It has become rare enough to be worth noting: in its first Ligue 1 outing of the 2026-27 season, Bouaké FC delivered. The Stars of Gbêkê beat the Amadou Diallo Football Academy (AFAD) of Plateau 2-1.
An opening win with a special flavor: it is the first time in four seasons that the club led by Chairman Issa Diabaté has won its first match. Against AFAD, the success carries extra weight, as their opponents are playing in an African competition.
Diomandé and Karamoko put Bouaké FC ahead before Zehi Fabrice pulled one back for the Academy side. Coach Fofana Sekou’s men were solid and united. They could rely on goalkeeper Ricardo, who led by example as captain with some important saves.
The Stars confirmed their status as the Plateau Academy’s nemesis and moved into first place in the Ligue 1 standings after this first matchday. A successful start that clearly shows the club’s ambitions for the new season.
